Position Description
At the City of Richmond, we work diligently and collectively as one organization to continue Richmond's legacy of being a wonderful community for employees, citizens, and visitors to work, play, and live. The Police Department is currently recruiting for "POLICE OFFICER".
Summary of DutiesThis position serves the community by enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. In addition, this position performs patrol functions, conducts investigations, makes arrests, assists citizens, controls traffic, and responds to other emergencies. At the discretion of the supervisor, this position will present crime prevention programs and perform special assignments.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must meet all requirements as established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCOLE) Basic Certification.
- Must have graduated from a certified Police Academy and passed the TCOLE Basic Peace Officer Licensing Exam.
- Must hold a valid Texas peace officer license and have never had a license issued by any State law enforcement regulatory commission revoked.
- Must possess a current, valid Texas driver's license.

Informational Meeting and Written Exam (Applicants will be notified of the next testing date)
Report on the date, time, and location for the written Exam. (No late entry to the testing location). The passing score is 70% or higher in each section.

Preliminary Interview

Oral Interview Board

Personal History Statement
Applicants will prepare all required documentation needed to accompany their personal History Statement (TCOLE) and submit it no later than TBA (Date and Time).
Step 7:
Personal History Statement (TCOLE) and Background Review

Conditional Job Offer, Psychological Examination, pre‑employment physical, controlled substance screening, fingerprinting, and Firearm Qualification
