POSITION DESCRIPTION
At the City of Richmond, we work diligently and collectively as one organization to continue Richmond's legacy of being a wonderful community for employees, citizens, and visitors to work, play, and live. The Police Department is currently recruiting for "POLICE OFFICER".
SUMMARY OF DUTIESThis position serves the needs of the community by enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. In addition, this position performs patrol functions, makes investigations and arrests suspects, provides assistance to citizens, controls traffic, and responds to other emergencies. At the discretion of the supervisor, this position will present crime prevention programs and perform special assignments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must meet all requirements as established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCOLE) Basic Certification.
- Must have graduated from a certified Police Academy and passed the TCOLE Basic Peace Officer Licensing Exam or successfully completed these requirements by Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
- Must hold a valid Texas peace officer license and have never had a license issued by any State law enforcement regulatory commission revoked.
- Must possess a current, valid Texas driver's license.
