Speech Pathologist
Under the general supervision of the Radiology Director, the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the provision of speech therapy services in the acute care, outpatient, and Skilled Nursing settings.
QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION:
Has earned a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. Obtain and maintain continuing education requirements in accordance with state guidelines.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Recommend minimum 1 year hospital experience including modified barium swallow studies.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have Certificate of Clinical Competence and State of Texas License to practice Speech-Language Pathology. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association is required. Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary as driving between campuses is required.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
The Speech Language Pathologist must be able to diagnose, treat, and provide management services to patients with communication disorders including speech, language, voice, fluency, and literacy difficulties, or patients with physical problems with eating or swallowing.
