The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus‑based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout the state.

This position is for a Rehabilitation Therapy Technician (RTT) who performs moderately complex habilitative and rehabilitative therapy work, providing assistance to therapists in an assigned therapeutic specialty (e.g., music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or vocational/day programming). The RTT provides direct contact instruction/training for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities on their treatment plans, trains others to ensure continuity of treatment plans, and may require a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state vehicle.

Job Functions (EJFs)
  • Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule, rotating schedules, extended shifts, and/or overtime.
  • Directly implements treatment plans through “hands on” methods, monitors treatment goals and objectives through direct contact observation.
  • Assists in the development and evaluation of treatment plans for assigned therapeutic specialty.
  • Assists the assigned therapist or vocational/day programming supervisor in conducting functional skills assessments.
  • Schedules, assists with, and/or provides staff training to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure continuity and follow‑through of treatment plan objectives during therapist or RTT absence.
  • Monitors the implementation of program objectives by DSPs, gathers data, and reports to the interdisciplinary team and therapist or supervisor.
  • Ensures satisfactory completion of paperwork in program‑related areas to meet applicable standards and procedures.
  • Ensures collection of data related to treatment plans to accurately assess individual progress.
  • Participates in the interdisciplinary team process, providing information on assessment results, intervention responses, and monitoring/staff training outcomes.
  • Provides feedback to the team about individual progress, works with DSPs to maintain connection, and assists with development of treatment plans.
  • Maintains current skills in relation to assigned responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned, including disaster response, recovery, or COOP activation, possibly requiring alternate shift patterns or locations.
