Westpark Springs is a mental health and addiction treatment center located at 6902 S Peek Road in Richmond, Texas. It offers both inpatient and outpatient services for adults, adolescents, and children dealing with psychiatric, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.

• Comprehensive Programs:
  Includes inpatient psychiatric care, detox services, and outpatient options like Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

• Specialized Youth Services:
  Offers tailored treatment for children and teens aged 12-18, with academic support and family involvement to ease reintegration into school and daily life.

• Dual Diagnosis Expertise:
  Focuses on treating individuals with both mental health and substance use disorders through evidence-based therapies.

  Provides case management, group and family therapy, medication management, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.

Essential Functions

• Performs structured evaluations and develops a treatment plan in conjunction with primary care counselor using therapeutic, recreational, and leisure activities.
• Conducts assessment and establishes recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients.
• Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions.
• Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization.
• Provides patient and patient's family with information regarding leisure life styles and creates an awareness of recreational resources in their community.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy

License:
Current Recreational Therapist to practice in the state of TX;
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)

Certifications:

N/A

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
