Position: Prime Air Sr. Maintenance Technician, Amazon Prime Air

Overview

Prime Air is seeking an experienced Sr. Repair Technician who combines technical skills with a passion for maintaining machinery and aircraft. This person is responsible for all drone maintenance and routine service at the commercial operation location, ensuring the aircraft conforms to design, and is in safe operating conditions. The candidate will work closely with engineering, flight operations, and other Prime Air teams to deliver on their responsibilities.

The individual should possess strong analytical skills, be a self-starter, and work well independently. The role includes training and qualification of the Repair Technician team at the commercial operation site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive time-based and condition-based maintenance activities
  • Own fleet performance metrics
  • Verify adherence to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes
  • Manage fleet spare parts and inventory
  • Train and mentor other Repair Technicians
  • Assign shift roster and oversee Repair Technicians
  • Demonstrate proactive safety mindset in ambiguous situations
  • Follow detailed instructions outlined in technical manuals

This role requires the ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach. The role may require any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel up to 25% of the time.

Export Control License:
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf. This position may be subject to Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and alcohol testing if conducting safety sensitive functions as defined by the FAA. Federal law also requires Amazon to determine an applicant's DOT drug and/or alcohol testing history prior to hiring into a position that would require safety sensitive functions as defined by the FAA.

Basic

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience
  • Experience in installing sub-assemblies and assemblies while working to drawings or CAD files
  • Experience with common business applications and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Experience guiding, training and mentoring others
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in business communication skills
  • Experience in robotics and Manufacturing engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in the aviation industry

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
