Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health

Westpark Springs Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a full‑time day registered nurse to deliver high quality behavioral health nursing care.

Job Type: Full time days

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the interdisciplinary care plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
• Plans care within set time frames and documents findings according to policies
• Oversees and supervises the shift
• Demonstrates leadership through duties such as delegating tasks, close observation, meal supervision, etc.
• Oversees staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by all members of the team
• Monitors patients for changes of condition and responds accordingly up to and including notification of the physician
• Follows hospital policy for medication administration
• Consistently uses empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients
• Delivers quality nursing care to ensure that the goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies
• Assists and performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients

• Current state RN license
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility; direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred
• Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities
• ACLS and PALS certification required within six months of hire
• One year of behavioral health experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
• CPR and De‑escalation certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire
