Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Aircraft Maintenance/ Mechanic
Position Overview
Join our Life‑Saving Team in Richmond, TX. PHI Health is seeking an A&P‑licensed aircraft mechanic with 2+ years of experience as a Certified Aircraft Mechanic to work on our helicopters. The mechanic will investigate and repair any airframe or power plant issues, maintain aircraft readiness, and uphold our mission to provide life‑saving care through precise and reliable flight operations.
Responsibilities- Review and evaluate daily maintenance or inspection requirements and perform tasks to maintain aircraft airworthiness.
- Notify Lead Mechanic of unusual situations requiring schedule changes, aircraft changes, extra manpower or technical assistance.
- At a field base, maintain all assigned aircraft, review stock levels, requisition spares, and ensure required repairs are performed.
- Ensure safety and security of company assets at the field base.
- Prepare reports, requisitions, inventories, and personally certify work on aircraft logs and related inspection and maintenance forms to meet FAA, manufacturer, and PHI Health requirements.
- Comply with RAMCO entries such as work packages, status sheets, removals and installations.
- Maintain close communication with Lead Mechanic and AMBS, and other agents as appropriate to ensure timely job completion.
- Maintain parts inventory and recommend level changes when necessary.
- Maintain company-provided special tools and ensure calibration is performed as scheduled.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma.
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant endorsements.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience as a Certified Mechanic.
- Basic skills in communication and computer use.
- Successful completion of a pre‑placement physical exam, including functional capacity exam, strength and flexibility assessment, lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Drug screening and background check clearance.
- For PHI Roving Maintenance Team: sheet metal repair and/or avionics troubleshooting/repair skills.
- Ability to travel frequently and sometimes on short notice during scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work night shifts when maintenance events dictate.

- Standard schedule for 7‑hour day, 7‑day week (7 &
7). - Candidates must live within a one‑hour drive or 60 miles of the base.
- Travel between bases is required.
