RME Mechatronics & Robotics Maintenance Technician II
This role supports an Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging systems, and robotics within a large, high-speed distribution facility. You will perform predictive and preventative maintenance on conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and other complex industrial equipment, while ensuring safe and reliable operation of automation and robotic technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as conveyors and associated automated systems.
- Perform predictive and preventative maintenance routines on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including completing all required documentation and procedures.
- Conduct battery changes and perform preventive maintenance on industrial batteries to ensure reliable equipment operation.
- Enter downtime data into daily logs and accurately complete preventive maintenance (PM) sheets to support maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Create, manage, and close work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Apply basic electrical knowledge to work with components, wiring, and control elements in material handling and robotic systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, automated conveyor systems, and controls to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Run diagnostics, perform inspections, and carry out repairs on complex industrial systems, including robotics and controls.
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to support accurate installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Track, store, and organize department inventory, including spare parts and maintenance materials, to ensure availability for repairs and PM activities.
- Follow and demonstrate safety standards and best practices in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidance and internal safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and overall system performance.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance team members to minimize equipment downtime and maintain high levels of system uptime.
- Operate within performance expectations that are measured through data and metrics, ensuring maintenance activities meet established standards.
Essential
Skills:
- At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on industrial or material handling equipment.
- 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
- 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
- 2+ years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles.
- 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
- 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE) systems.
- 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment.
- Experience working with automated conveyor systems, including performing preventive maintenance on conveyors.
- Ability to complete preventative maintenance on systems involving hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and related components.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Comfort working in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments performing maintenance on complex systems and equipment, especially conveyors and other MHE, including controls and robotics.

Qualifications:
- Experience troubleshooting basic input and output functions of building operations systems.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance records.
- Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in enhancing processes and equipment reliability.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) organization.
- Experience with material handling equipment safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and internal safety standards.
- Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
- 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- 2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems.
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance in an automated or high-speed facility.
- Experienced in industrial maintenance, equipment maintenance, robotics technician work, conveyors, and material handling systems.
