DESCRIPTION:

The City is looking for employees who are committed to public service and possess a willingness to be challenged. The Vehicle Maintenance Department is currently recruiting for "Mechanic I".
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:Responsible for performing maintenance, minor repairs to heavy and light trucks, construction equipment, automobiles, and similar equipment; operating a variety of hand, power, and shop tools; and performing related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Formal
Education:
High school graduate, GED or equivalent
RelatableWork Experience:
- 1 year of practical experience.
Valid Texas CDL class C driver's license with the ability to obtain a Class A Texas CDL class within obtaining within a year.
Technical certifications from National Institute for Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) are preferred or have the ability to obtain basic ASE certification criteria.
Obtain within 6 months of employment:
Texas Department of Public Safety Inspector.
