About the Fort Bend Women’s Center

At Fort Bend Women’s Center, we deliver innovative, trauma-informed services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our approach is brain-health–based, strengths-focused, and data-driven — centered on healing, hope, and self-determination.

What You’ll Do
  • Supervise, coach, and support Operations Advocates (onboarding, training, performance feedback)
  • Ensure consistent 24/7 shelter coverage, including weekends and holidays
  • Respond to crises and guide staff during escalations
  • Model trauma-informed, survivor-centered care
  • Lead weekly staff and client house meetings
  • Maintain accurate documentation (shift notes, incident reports, safety checks)
  • Oversee daily shelter operations, safety, and facility needs
  • Coordinate room turnovers, inventory, and basic facility upkeep
  • Communicate regularly with shelter leadership and community partners
  • Assist with transportation, hotline coverage, kitchen support, and client engagement as needed
What We’re Looking For
  • 2–3 years of experience in a domestic violence shelter, crisis intervention, or human services setting
  • 2–3 years of supervisory, lead, or mentoring experience
  • Strong crisis response, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in high-stress situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and auto insurance
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs
  • Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field (experience may substitute)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Food Manager’s Certificate (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
