About the Fort Bend Women’s CenterAt Fort Bend Women’s Center, we deliver innovative, trauma-informed services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our approach is brain-health–based, strengths-focused, and data-driven — centered on healing, hope, and self-determination.
What You’ll Do- Supervise, coach, and support Operations Advocates (onboarding, training, performance feedback)
- Ensure consistent 24/7 shelter coverage, including weekends and holidays
- Respond to crises and guide staff during escalations
- Model trauma-informed, survivor-centered care
- Lead weekly staff and client house meetings
- Maintain accurate documentation (shift notes, incident reports, safety checks)
- Oversee daily shelter operations, safety, and facility needs
- Coordinate room turnovers, inventory, and basic facility upkeep
- Communicate regularly with shelter leadership and community partners
- Assist with transportation, hotline coverage, kitchen support, and client engagement as needed
- 2–3 years of experience in a domestic violence shelter, crisis intervention, or human services setting
- 2–3 years of supervisory, lead, or mentoring experience
- Strong crisis response, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and organized in high-stress situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and auto insurance
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs
- Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field (experience may substitute)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Food Manager’s Certificate (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
