We are partnering with a growing, project-based organization seeking a Revenue & Project Accountant to support financial tracking and revenue recognition across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Accounting to ensure accurate project costing, profitability analysis, and compliance with revenue recognition standards.
Responsibilities- Set up and maintain project budgets, cost codes, and tracking structures
- Monitor project costs, commitments, and profitability against approved budgets
- Track work-in-process and prepare project financial reports and variance analyses
- Support accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Prepare revenue and cost-related journal entries
- Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and WIP accounts
- Partner with Sales and Project teams to review contract terms and financial impact
- Collaborate with Billing to ensure invoicing aligns with contractual requirements
- Identify cost overruns and financial risks proactively
- Support commission calculations and related reporting
- Assist with process improvements to enhance project accounting efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a project-based environment
- Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, and financial controls
- Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles; ASC 606 experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
- Detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
$70,000–$85,000 base salary with 10% annual target bonus
