Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining vendor records. Responsibilities:

- Process and verify accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Enter financial data into systems with precision and attention to detail.

- Maintain and update vendor files to ensure records are complete and current.

- Handle invoice processing and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

- Coordinate payment processing activities to meet deadlines and avoid errors.

- Process incoming invoice mail and ensure proper filing and documentation.

- Regularly review accounts payable records for accuracy and completeness.

- Collaborate with other departments to address payment inquiries and issues.

- Support audits and reporting requirements as needed. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable processes and procedures.

- Proficiency in data entry with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

- Familiarity with maintaining and organizing vendor files.

- Strong understanding of invoice processing and payment workflows.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and vendors.

- Knowledge of financial systems or tools related to accounts payable.
