Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor invoices, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying and coding invoices.

- Enter data into financial systems with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Maintain and update vendor files to ensure compliance and accuracy.

- Handle payment processing tasks, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.

- Sort, review, and process incoming invoices through mail or electronic systems.

- Collaborate with vendors to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.

- Generate reports on accounts payable activities for management review.

- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures for all payment activities.

- Monitor and reconcile accounts to maintain financial accuracy and prevent errors. Requirements - Previous experience in accounts payable or a related field.

- Proficiency in data entry and financial software systems.

- Knowledge of vendor file management and payment processing.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.

- Familiarity with standard accounting practices and procedures.
