Senior Property Accountant (Richmond, VA)

Hackney Real Estate Partners is currently seeking a highly motivated, reliable, organized and detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our team in Richmond, VA. This position reports directly to the Controller.
Primary Responsibilities:- Monitor and reconcile property bank accounts, research and resolve reconciling items timely.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including capitalization of assets. Resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare mortgage reconciliations including escrow accounts. Resolve discrepancies.
- Review and validate monthly management fee calculations for approval.
- Journal entries, including reclassifications, depreciation and amortization, other accruals.
- Produce property financial reporting packages and other required financial information.
- Analyze and report on account information and trends.
- Assist in annual budget process and year-end audit/ tax requirements.
- Complete and/or assist with special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real estate industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- High competency in Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe products.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized, flexible and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work productively and accurately in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and stringent deadlines.
- Adept with technology and comfortable working in a paperless environment.
- Ability to proactively identify issues and initiate actions.
- Displays a sense of urgency to effectively and efficiently complete varying workloads.
- Must have a high degree of integrity and discretion.
