Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Richmond, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with transactional work, and comfortable managing invoice activity in a fast-paced environment. The position will focus on timely payment handling, vendor record upkeep, and consistent data entry to help maintain efficient accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming invoices, verify details for accuracy, and prepare them for timely processing.

- Enter payment and invoice information into financial records with a high level of precision.

- Manage accounts payable activities to help ensure obligations are handled according to established timelines.

- Maintain and update vendor profiles, confirming documentation and record accuracy as needed.

- Process payments through approved methods while tracking transaction status and supporting proper documentation.

- Sort and handle mailed invoices, routing them appropriately for processing and recordkeeping.

- Assist with resolving invoice discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal contacts when needed. Requirements
