Join the Park Authority and our nationally recognized team of professionals. This position works as part of one of the most highly regarded park systems in the country, managing more than 25,000 acres of parkland, nine RECenters, eight golf courses, and three lakefront parks.
Responsibilities- Prepares and/or analyzes financial data and makes recommendations.
- Plans, organizes and participates in the reconciliation of funds.
- Prepares long‑range revenue and expenditure estimates necessary to forecast economic feasibility of various projects.
- Reviews and verifies postings to appropriate ledgers and subsidiary accounts.
- Applies budget, procurement, and payment procedures in accordance with established county policies, accounting principles (GAAP and GASB), and local and state policies and procedures.
- Prepares or assists in the development of the agency budget and monitors budget status.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to prepare, interpret and analyze financial reports and statements.
- Ability to develop and apply budget, procurement, and payment procedures in accordance with established county policies.
Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with either a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, public policy, or a related field; plus, two years of professional‑level experience in finance, business administration, budgeting, or contract management. A master’s degree in a related field or CPA may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration.
- Four or more years of progressive experience in the field of accounting, finance, or a budget environment.
- Knowledge of FOCUS (SAP) and experience downloading and manipulating data.
- Ability to work with minimum direct supervision and successfully navigate managing staff.
- Proven ability to develop and present complex financial reports and analysis, with strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to prepare and present reports for leadership decision‑making.
- Advanced proficiency using MS Office Suite applications.
