Finance Manager – Richmond
We are currently assisting a large, reputable corporation with its search for a Finance Manager at its Richmond location. The position will report to the VP of Accounting & Operations and work closely with the facility executive team.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the accounting, financial planning and analysis as well as facilitating various other activities supporting a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate needs to be regarded as a trusted advisor for the plant manager, to help set and execute strategy for the facility while maintaining strong communications with corporate and regional management. Adherence to and implementation of corporate accounting and planning processes is critical for success.
Responsibilities- Full responsibility for all facility financial processes and matters including preparation of the manufacturing cost strategy, development of the business/financial plan preparation, cost measurement and control, cost accounting, internal controls and compliance, asset management; capital project tracking; and routine preparation of monthly/quarterly financial reports.
- Partner with plant leadership and work with all levels of the organization improving business effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and driving excellence with manual procedures.
- Actively identify & drive implementation of cost savings and process improvements opportunities.
- Conduct financial analysis on results and proposed investments.
- Analyze profit trends and recommend manufacturing strategies.
- Liaison with internal and external auditors as well as other Corporate Finance personnel.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CMA or CPA is a plus
- 5+ years progressive experience in manufacturing accounting
- Internal control & compliance ("SOX") experience
- Experience with standard cost environments in manufacturing is strongly preferred, including in-depth variance analysis.
- Cost accounting & inventory accounting experience
