POSITION TITLE
Accountant, Alternative Investment Accounting
LOCATIONRichmond, VA
WORK SCHEDULEA Hybrid schedule of both Remote and In-Office days is required. In office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with working hours targeting our core business hours of 9am-5pm EST.
YOUR ROLE- Support accurate U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting for the organization’s Alternative Assets investment portfolio, supporting large scale projects, developing and maintaining robust internal controls framework
- Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for our alternative assets portfolio
- Research and review of accounting guidance to assess existing processes – identifying potential efficiencies and/or gaps in current business processes
- Perform assigned accounting responsibilities, including account reconciliations, transaction reviews, loan pricing analysis, real estate owned accounting, and journal entry and financial reporting preparation
- Partner with the Finance Teams across all product lines and assist in the development and execution of Investment strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create efficiencies and deliver superior business results
- Support accounting policy implementation and strategic business process redesign efforts
- Help maintain SOX controls documentation and evaluate deficiency risks through on‑going review and validation of key operational processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business‑related discipline
- CPA is preferred
- 2-5 years of U.S. GAAP and/or U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross‑functional groups and communicate complex information clearly
- Ability to balance multiple projects at once and prioritize appropriately
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
- Skills including MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot)

National Range: $68,900 - $103,000 – This role is eligible to participate in a bonus incentive plan. Incentive compensation is based on individual and company performance and is not guaranteed.
