We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

.There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Supports Fixed Asset Accounting activities for the Virginia Power Distribution and Transmission functions, the service company, and the Power Plan fixed asset subledger.
• Responsibilities include capital project closing, account reconciliations, financial controls, and data analysis.
• Assists with Power Plan administration and process improvements while serving as the primary point of contact for related invoices.
• Partners with business, finance, and technology teams to strengthen reporting, data integrity, and Power Plan processes.
• Evaluates and applies capitalization policies, researches accounting matters, and contributes to regulatory filings, rate cases, and special projects.
• Participates in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.

Senior Accountant:5-6+ years of general accounting experience or 4+ years of experience working in public accounting (See note below)

Accountant:2-3 years of general accounting experience or 5+ years of experience working in public accounting (see note below)

Note
: A Master's degree will count as one year towards the experience requirement. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one full year of experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
