Controller ​/ VP Finance

Next Round builds trade-in and resale infrastructure for the golf industry. We partner with major retailers, manufacturers, and private clubs to process and resell thousands of golf clubs every month through our ecommerce, wholesale, and live-selling channels.

After a period of rapid growth, we are bringing accounting and financial control in-house. We are looking for a hands-on Controller who can build strong financial and inventory controls, deliver accurate reporting, and help our leadership team make better operational decisions.

The Controller will join our leadership team and own all aspects of financial management, inventory control, reporting, and administrative operations. This position partners with inventory acquisition, revenue operations, and marketing to ensure we are investing company resources wisely and maximizing enterprise value.

This is a builder’s role for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and translating data into decisions.

• Own the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, month-end close, and cash management.
• Maintain accurate revenue recognition, cost of goods sold, and inventory valuation across all sales channels.
• Develop and enforce inventory controls that ensure data accuracy and financial integrity.
• Build clear, reliable financial reporting and dashboards that guide leadership decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Provide financial insight to guide purchasing, pricing, and marketing initiatives.
• Oversee technical accounting, reporting, and administrative functions including payroll, insurance, HR onboarding, and vendor management.
• Manage sales tax compliance and other regulatory filings.
• Collaborate daily with leadership to align financial goals with operational priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes that connect accounting, inventory, and business strategy.

• Inventory and financial systems are fully reconciled and reliable.
• Month-end close completed within ten business days.
• Leadership has clear visibility into profit drivers, cash flow, and resource allocation.

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience in an inventory-based or multi-channel business.
• Deep understanding of inventory accounting, cost flows, and reconciliation.
• Proven experience establishing financial and operational controls.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into insights.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• CPA or CMA strongly preferred; MBA a plus.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis capability.

• Base salary: $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
