Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for our consulting team in Richmond, Virginia. This role will oversee essential close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure the integrity of the general ledger. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping deliver timely financial results.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and ensuring supporting documentation is complete.
• Prepare and post journal entries with a high degree of accuracy and alignment to accounting policies.
• Perform account reconciliations regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate variances to support reliable cash reporting.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather accounting information and support routine financial reporting needs.
• Review accounting records for completeness and consistency while helping strengthen day-to-day processes.
