Controller, Accounting, Financial Controller

Prospect Blue is hiring a Controller for a well-established company in Richmond, VA! Must have your CPA!!

A well-established company in the Petersburg, VA area is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role for a CPA who thrives in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with industry accounting standards and manufacturer reporting requirements
• Develop and monitor internal controls
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial institutions
• Analyze departmental profitability and provide actionable insights to management

• CPA required
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred
• Automotive retail accounting experience strongly preferred (familiarity with DMS systems a plus)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
