Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst

Schedule:

Hybrid — in office Tuesday through Thursday

We are seeking an Accountant to join an Alternative Investment Accounting team within a large financial services organization. This individual will support the accounting and financial reporting of an alternative investment portfolio while helping maintain strong internal controls and improve existing accounting processes.

• Support U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting and reporting for alternative investments
• Review system outputs to ensure investments receive the appropriate accounting treatment
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
• Review investment transactions and perform loan pricing analysis
• Support accounting for real estate-owned investments and other alternative assets
• Research accounting guidance and evaluate its impact on current processes
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and reporting
• Assist with accounting policy implementation and business process redesign initiatives
• Maintain SOX control documentation and help evaluate potential control deficiencies
• Partner with Finance and other departments to support investment strategies and business initiatives
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
• 2–5 years of U.S. GAAP and/or statutory accounting and reporting experience
• CPA preferred but not required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate complex accounting information clearly
• Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
• Experience with alternative investments, investment accounting, SOX controls, or financial services is a plus
