Manufacturing Accountant

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is responsible for supporting financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory analysis, and month-end close activities within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, analytical skills, and the ability to partner with operations to drive financial accuracy and business performance.

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end close processes.

• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory activity, and production variances.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts.

• Monitor standard costs and assist with cost updates and product cost analysis.

• Prepare financial reports and support management with operational and financial insights.

• Review inventory transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

• Partner with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams to improve processes and controls.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.

• Assist with external audits and other compliance-related activities.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting, and accounting processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.

• Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software environments.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

• Experience with standard costing and inventory valuation methods.

• CPA or CMA certification, or progress toward certification.

• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting.

• Background in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.

The successful candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys working closely with operations to provide meaningful financial insights. They are comfortable managing multiple priorities, improving processes, and contributing to the success of a growing manufacturing organization.

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
