- Team:
Reports to and is supervised by experienced Core Tax Services professionals. - Mission:
This person will prepare tax returns and extensions for clients, ensuring compliance with authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens. - Tech Stack:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), tax software applications, online research tools.
- Tax Compliance:
Prepare simple tax returns and extensions, ensuring clients comply with all applicable authorities and firm policies, while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens. - Tax Provision Support:
Assist with components of income tax provisions (ASC 740), correctly applying firm policies and standards. - Tax Consulting:
Help develop and implement efficient methods to maximize client benefits, primarily by decreasing current and future taxes. - Research & Analysis:
Operate online research tools to gather pertinent tax information and monitor tax law developments, communicating potential impacts to the client service team. - Client Correspondence:
Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service and help project year-end filings for clients.
- Background:
Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or another relevant field, pursuing an entry-level career in tax services. - Experience:
No specific years required; leadership experience is preferred. - Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team setting; positive attitude and willingness to learn; ability to prepare simple tax returns. - Bonus:
Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting or other relevant field; actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
