Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in supporting the accounts payable team through accurate data entry and administrative tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills and proficiency with technology to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

- Process and enter numeric and alphanumeric data into relevant systems with precision.

- Assist the accounts payable team in managing invoices and payment records.

- Verify accuracy of data and correct any inconsistencies found during review.

- Maintain organized digital and physical records for reporting and auditing purposes.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and deadlines.

- Utilize computer software and tools to streamline data entry processes.

- Conduct periodic checks to ensure data integrity and compliance with company standards.

- Respond to inquiries related to accounts payable and provide support as needed.

- Stay updated on company procedures and policies to optimize workflow. Requirements - Proven experience in data entry or a related role, with a focus on numeric accuracy.

- Familiarity with computer data entry systems and software.

- Strong typing skills with a high degree of speed and accuracy.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.

- Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly records and documentation.

- Basic understanding of accounts payable processes is preferred.

- Proficiency in using technology and office software tools.
