This position will be the Administrative Assistant for the Office of International Student Services.
Duties and Tasks- Answering general questions about admission process for international students.
- Routing phone calls, sorting mail, answering incoming calls, responding to emails, arranging appointments for customers to meet with advisors.
- Responsible for entering data in Excel database.
- Will utilize HPC/Perceptive and People Soft/SIS to scan applications.
- Responsible for the maintenance of office files, draft correspondence, help office manager with organization of supply cabinet and student files.
- All applicants must reside in VA, MD, or DC. Special Assignments may be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks quickly and efficiently in addition to answering phone calls.
- Able to maintain a positive and tactful demeanor and disposition.
- Demonstrated ability and patience to work in a multicultural environment with individuals for whom English is not their primary language.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite specifically Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience inputting data into Excel.
- Experience working in an office environment.
- Experience working as an administrative assistant.
- Experience working in a community college.
- Experience with People Soft/SIS.
- Bilingual preference.
