Position Information

Role:
Adult Education Program Support Technician (CCWA) – Agency: J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College – Position No.: 283W0223 – Pay Band: 02 – Salary: up to $20 per hour – Employment:
Part‑time, 29 hrs weekly –

Schedule:

as set by supervisor – Telework: subject to change – EEO Category: 6 – Administrative Support.

Responsibilities

The Program Support Technician provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Adult Education program, serving as a primary point of contact for students, staff, and community members. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering inquiries, maintaining confidential student and personnel records, processing payroll and leave documentation, preparing correspondence, reports, and statistical data, managing calendars and schedules, coordinating travel arrangements, maintaining office supplies and equipment, supporting data entry and record‑keeping functions, and using various computer applications and databases to track information and generate reports.

  • Assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (KSA's)
  • General knowledge of business office procedures, practices, and office equipment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize assignments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated tact, sound judgment, and initiative in completing assignments.
  • Excellent computer proficiency and ability to use office software effectively.
