The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide complex, strategic, executive-level support to the Sector Divisions. This position will organize office operations, manage divisional workflows, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment supporting the Sector Divisions’ three (3) Vice Presidents.
Responsibilities:
Manage and prioritize divisional workflows, including calendar management and appointment scheduling for the Vice PresidentsManage the office budget by tracking and forecasting monthly expenses; review and approve initial travel expense submissions for divisional staffConduct research, edit, and prepare drafts of correspondence and presentations, including preliminary responses and prioritization of correspondence on behalf of the Vice PresidentsIdentify process improvements and implement changes, as necessary, to streamline operations and expedite workflowCoordinate staff onboarding by scheduling training meetings and ensuring employees have the appropriate materials and equipmentSupport meetings led by the Vice Presidents by taking notes, drafting official meeting minutes, coordinating logistics, and maintaining meeting-related documentationSkills:
Exceptional grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skillsAbility to lead, manage, and train othersAbility to respond in a flexible manner and reprioritize as situations changeStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detailAbility to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalismDemonstrated experience exercising discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significanceDemonstrated ability to manage multiple prioritiesDemonstrated ability to adapt to new technology and acquire new skillsKnowledge of the public service sector and state and local government desiredExperience:
Experience using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Advanced Power Point Experience using Salesforce preferredExtensive administrative experience in an executive environmentThis is a hybrid position based in VEDP’s office in Richmond, Virginia.
