Senior Claims Assistant
Full‑Time, Non‑Exempt, In‑Office (Los Angeles, Omaha, or Richmond). Reports to Claims Support Supervisor in Houston. Requires 100% in‑office presence during standard business hours; overtime may be required.
SummaryWe are looking for a highly capable Senior Claims Assistant to join our team and work from one of our U.S. offices. The role provides robust clerical support to a nationwide team of Claims Adjusters, handling tasks such as check processing, state forms, and customer communication. The position reports to a Claims Support Supervisor in Houston and supports claims operations across a variety of specialties.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Provide complex clerical support under limited supervision, including stopping, cancelling, and releasing checks; processing cash receipts; handling work check exceptions; completing complex state forms.
- Make independent adjustments or recommended enhancements on ad‑hoc special projects using related business expertise.
- Maintain accurate claims data by inputting policy and claim information for new and existing claims.
- Communicate extensively with customers; answer incoming calls, process electronic mail, prepare written correspondence, and handle outgoing mail.
- Review each claim for payment, documenting date issued and check number; research financials to verify payment information.
- Coordinate escheatment process.
- Review outstanding checks across claim systems, determine payment status, prepare letters as needed, and document findings in FSITrack.
- Advanced knowledge of Service Center systems, policies, and procedures with exceptional customer service focus.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and six years’ relevant experience; or vocational/technical education with three years of experience; or bachelor’s degree with one year of experience.
- Prior experience with Image Right and/or Guidewire Claims Center strongly preferred.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of insurance operations.
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Excellent telephone communication skills in English;
Spanish fluency is a plus. - Detail‑oriented, effective time management, and ability to prioritize workload.
- Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills.

- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business software.

The base salary range is geographic‑specific and commensurate with experience. In addition to base salary, the position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance and a comprehensive benefits program, including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
- Richmond: $61,098 – $71,094
- Los Angeles & New York City: $73,338 – $85,578
