Temporary Summer High School Intern – Admin & Office Spec I
Role Code: 19011‑SW. Pay: $13.50 per hour. Part‑time, up to 29 hours per week. All positions are face‑to‑face on the Danville Community College campus (Danville, VA). The position is nonexempt under FLSA. Final date to receive applications:
July 21, 2026.
Maximum 29 hours per week with a 30‑minute break after every 5 consecutive hours of work. Candidates under 16 must provide a Youth Employment Certificate.
All assignments are performed on campus; no telework. Local travel may be required during work hours.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with administrative duties in appointed departments (Academic Affairs, Student Services, Workforce Services, Finance & Administration). May be required to perform other duties as assigned and support the agency or state government in emergencies.
Qualifications- Knowledge, training, and experience in the area of interest.
- Ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
- Reading, writing, understanding, and following instructions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, multi‑tasking, time‑management, and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to lift objects as needed.
- Basic computer skills.
- Microsoft Office expertise.
- Relevant work experience.
