Office Administrator/ Coordinator, Clerical, Admin Assistant
Administrative Assistant – ENG/ESL Division, Annandale Campus. This position supports the division of Languages, Arts, and Social Sciences at Northern Virginia Community College.
General DescriptionProvide administrative support to the ENG/ESL office, managing day‑to‑day operations, assisting with student enrollment, and serving as the first point of contact for the division.
Duties and Tasks- Performs routine office support activities
- Provide customer service to students and division visitors
- Answers phones and emails
- Assist with contacting students following course changes and enrollment cancellations
- Helps enroll students in classes and helps them understand their schedules
- Provides administrative support to the ENG/ESL Administrative Assistant, Associate Dean and ENG/ESL faculty
- May be required to maintain records and filing systems
- Applies knowledge of basic office practices, procedures and equipment (customer service, telephone, computer, copier)
- Serves as first point of contact for the division if needed
- Applies knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling and basic mathematics
May be required to perform other duties as assigned, and may assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
