Summary: VCU’s Office of the University Registrar (OUR) is actively searching for a Registrar Services Assistant. The Registrar Services Assistant is a part-time, hourlyposition that provides general support to the Registrar Services Coordinator and helps ensure smooth daily operations in the Officeof the University Registrar. This position assists with a variety of tasks related to student records, registration, transcripts and enrollment services.
- Serving as an initial point of contact for customers such asstudents, faculty, and staff by answering phones and responding to department emails
- In-person customer service including greeting and assistingwalk-in visitors to the Office of the University Registrar
- Scanning and filing documents in using the appropriate record systems.
- Ensure information is handled in a confidential and professional manner in line with university policies and FERPAregulations.
- Other administrative duties as assigned duties. The assistant will also help ensure information is handled in a confidential and professional manner in line with university policies and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.
- Availability required Monday – Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00PM, based on departmental needs
- This is fully in-person role with no flexibility for remote work.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Google Workspace
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention todetail
- Ability to handle large volumes of calls in a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload efficiently and ina timely manner, in order to complete job responsibilities
- Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently oras part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
- Experience in a higher education or administrative office setting
- Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner,People Soft, etc.)
Salary Range: $13.77
