New River Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under a state-wide system of 23 community colleges. The college is located on a one hundred plus acre site at the intersection of U.S. Routes 11 and 100 in Dublin, Virginia with an instructional site in Christiansburg. The campus provides modern, well-equipped facilities for the career technical education programs as well as for the college transfer programs.
Approximately 4,000 students comprise the student body.

- Manage office functions for the division of health professions so matters are handled in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.
- Maintain strategic documents and course plan files for the division.
- Create, revise, and maintain programs data spreadsheets for accreditors and regulatory bodies.
- Assist as needed with regulatory reports for various regulatory and accreditation bodies.
- Maintain and monitor budgets for all departmental accounts in the division.
- Maintain health profession student files.
- Assist the dean with grant proposals.
- Assist the health professions clinical coordinator with duties including reviewing immunization records, tracking student progress toward meeting the requirements, and submission of required student information to the various clinical affiliate databases.
- Assist the health profession’s division faculty with instructional needs, such as book order submissions, securing desk copies and supplies, etc. and monitor faculty for completion of various surveys and submission of final grades.
- Coordinate procurement for items requested by faculty and staff.
- Assist in credentialing for the division. Assist in the planning and coordination of division events.
- Serve as a liaison to college personnel regarding scheduling and use of facilities.
- Collaborate with other departmental administrative staff and perform additional duties as assigned by the dean.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Work experience in an office setting. Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and computer skills.
- Ability to create, revise, and maintain data in Excel format.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work well with others in a professional manner.
- Flexibility and ability to meet deadlines while working effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
