Capital Equipment Procurement Manager
The Capital Equipment Procurement Manager is responsible for planning, budgeting, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, critical supplier performance management and stakeholder management for capital equipment in the mechanical category. This role will develop long‑term business strategies aligned with key stakeholders and executives to drive results directly linked to business goals that contribute to the company’s market leadership. The position requires strong negotiation skills, an in‑depth understanding of HVAC systems, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
The Capital Equipment Procurement Manager reports to the Senior Manager, Capital Equipment Procurement for mechanical equipment.

- Analyze capital plans to identify equipment and services required to establish budgets and rolling 12‑month procurement plans, adjusting to sales projection updates.
- Provide accurate cost and schedule information in a timely manner to Development Program Managers for budget approvals and project schedule planning.
- Deliver weekly procurement status reports, progress updates, and recommendations to executives to align on business objectives.
- Continuously evaluate new infrastructure technologies with partners to balance cost, availability, reliability, and efficiency in standard equipment offerings.
- Analyze category spend, conduct market and commodity trend research, and deploy strategic plans while tracking KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and processes, continuously improving systems for best‑in‑class procurement performance.
- Collaborate with global procurement leaders to align and execute category strategies.
- Identify and implement procurement initiatives that improve speed to market, quality, and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Assess business impacts with stakeholders to manage supply risk, develop contingency plans, and establish risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead ongoing category management activities to meet business objectives and benefit targets.
- Develop RFP packages and lead competitive sourcing events to secure commercial value, risk mitigation, and performance requirements.
- Support sales by securing competitive NRC costing for customer deals as requested.
- Solicit and develop construction‑related contracts to support projects and timelines.
- Monitor market supply conditions and anticipate project needs to ensure just‑in‑time delivery of equipment.
- Resolve technical and commercial issues, engage subject matter experts, and apply corrective actions when necessary.
- Distribute updated design standards to suppliers to ensure specification compliance.
- Obtain equipment submittals to support design, specification, and process approvals.
- Track and manage equipment inventory locations, recommending action plans for capital asset reallocation to avoid costs.
- Develop KPIs to measure supplier performance, including on‑site delivery and cost savings.
- Ensure mutual contracted obligations are fulfilled to realize negotiated values.
- Conduct periodic business reviews, including weekly meetings, QBRs, and problem‑resolution sessions.
- Consult with site operations, suppliers, finance, and other stakeholders to address issues and drive process improvements.
- Travel to sites, OEM facilities, trade conferences, and networking events to build relationships and support strategic objectives.
- Provide ad‑hoc assistance for site operations on difficult‑to‑source equipment, parts, and services.
