Senior Product Manager, Owners & Funds
CoStar Group is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. This role focuses on owning and evolving the CoStar Owner Module, a flagship product that brings together complex commercial real estate data into a unified experience for owners, investors, brokers, and lenders.
Location:
Richmond, VA (in-office, Monday through Friday).
- Own and continuously refine the product strategy for CoStar’s Owner Module, aligning with corporate priorities and customer needs across Investors, Owners/Developers, Brokers, and Lenders.
- Define and manage roadmap themes such as owner search improvements, expanded portfolio analytics, related companies and fund transparency, leadership/contact visibility, listings integration, transaction intelligence, requirements and international portfolio support.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and differentiate the Owner Module through depth, accuracy, and connectivity of data.
- Engage regularly with customers—owners, investors, brokers, lenders, and institutional stakeholders—to gather feedback, validate needs, and translate insights into product direction.
- Leverage usage analytics, Pendo guides, research insights, and customer feedback channels to guide prioritization.
- Partner with Sales to understand persona-specific use cases and pain points.
- Lead cross-functional teams (Engineering, Research, UX) to deliver high-quality features such as search filters, portfolio maps, disposition and acquisition analytics, tenant mix, related funds, and enhanced ownership hierarchy transparency.
- Define detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria informed by the Owner Playbook and the needs of each persona.
- Collaborate with Research to ensure property-, transaction-, and ownership-level data is accurate, timely, and complete, including upcoming expansions (e.g., UK multifamily, international portfolio integration).
- Partner with Training, Sales, and Marketing to create and deliver product education—including decks, pitch hooks, FABs, discovery questions, and use cases.
- Support product launches including internal enablement, beta programs, and external client communications.
- Ensure sales teams have the right messaging to demonstrate value across personas (Owners, Investors, Brokers, Lenders) and articulate how the Owner Module addresses industry challenges.
- Track product performance using Pendo dashboards and usage data to identify adoption drivers and friction points.
- Measure outcomes based on customer value, revenue impact, retention, and product utilization.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback from clients, sales teams, and internal research teams.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college.
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, data products, analytics platforms, or CRE technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, data models, and complex information architectures.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience partnering with technical teams and research/data teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into business value.
- Experience with customer discovery, persona-driven product design, and data-driven prioritization.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive clarity in ambiguous environments.
- A track record of commitment to prior employers.
- Deep familiarity with the commercial real estate ecosystem: owners, developers, investors, brokers, and lenders.
- Experience with property-level datasets, transaction data, public records, REIT structures, fund hierarchies, or CRE analytics platforms.
- Prior experience building search/filtering interfaces, portfolio analytics dashboards, or workflow tools.
- Experience supporting global product expansions and navigating country-specific data variations.
