As our Assistant Buyer, you’ll support the Buyer in all aspects of the business, from monitoring the critical path and managing deliveries to quality control and competitor analysis. You’ll lead and develop the Buyers Administrator, ensure smooth operations across internal teams, and help make strategic trade decisions that drive sales and profitability.
- Monitor the production process, managing timelines from order placement to delivery
- Maintain supplier relationships and confidently challenge where needed to achieve trade performance
- Support critical path management, sample approvals, and QA processes
- Analyse competitors, markets, and customer trends to inform buying decisions
- Assist with line lists, planograms, and all meeting preparations
- Manage and mentor the Buyers Administrator to deliver on department objectives
- Escalate and problem‑solve issues proactively, ensuring product arrives on time and on budget
- 1+ years as an Assistant Buyer and at least 18 months as a Buyers Administrator
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem‑solving
- Strong communicator capable of liaising with senior management and cross‑functional teams
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to reprioritise workload based on business needs
