Job DutiesThe Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Senior Business Analyst. This position will be responsible for providing advanced analytical support and project coordination across all administrative functions, with an emphasis on evaluating, improving, and developing business processes, policies, and procedures. Primary duties include assisting with agency-wide policies and procedures, risk assessment and testing internal controls.
This position is based in our Richmond, Virginia office and typically offers a hybrid telework/in-office schedule.
- Demonstrated experience in risk assessment and internal controls (such as ARMICS)
- Extensive experience developing, writing, and implementing organizational policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally (both written and oral), and a sincere commitment to customer service
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently implement and assist with various administrative programs and functions
- Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze data and make recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to collect, assemble, process and file information using manual and automated systems
- Coursework in Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience interpreting federal, state, and/or local education regulations
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Experience with aspects of finance and business administration programs
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications and database programs to enter data, produce reports and analyze data to support administrative programs
- Experience using state government systems
- Experience preparing, reviewing and editing miscellaneous forms and documents
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform general research to resolve issues
