Responsibilities- The Milling Field Manager oversees and manages all aspects of milling operations on construction sites. Collaborates with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure successful completion of milling projects within established timelines and quality standards. Supervises and directs assigned crew members in preparing, executing, and finishing asphalt milling projects.
- Role is fast-paced and requires taking ownership, making informed decisions, and coordinating with and directing activities of all job-site crews, subcontractors, and material/equipment providers. Interfaces effectively with clients, inspectors, regulatory representatives, and other key individuals within the organization.

Means/Methods
— Demonstrates technical proficiency in multiple aspects of asphalt milling. Supervises hourly crew members and plans/schedules manpower and equipment as needed. Manages deliveries from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure safety, profitability, scheduling compliance, and customer satisfaction. - Technical:
Delay Free Production/Quality
— Ensures customer satisfaction in all customer and inspector relations/interactions. Plans and directs work and maximizes equipment utilization by employing delay-free production. Communicates productivity metrics, quality standards, and daily performance to crew members. Ensures work site is prepared for the next crew. Conducts Daily Huddle meetings. - Safety
— Follows the Allan Myers Safety Program, including preplanning to identify conditions/exposures, proper safety and PPE, and accident investigation/reporting. Secures PPE for self and crew members to maintain a safe operation. Conducts thorough preplanning that identifies unique site conditions, major exposures, and controls. Enforces safety procedures with crew members and subcontractors within work zones. - Leadership/Supervisory/Management
— Coordinates with other Field Managers, Superintendents, and the customer to implement project plans. Provides on-the-job training, communicates performance expectations for productivity, quality, and safety, maintains performance documentation, and provides input on salary/promotional recommendations. Administers disciplinary action as appropriate and consults with leadership for resolution. Encourages teamwork, people development, and adherence to company policies. - Administrative:
Contract/Scheduling/Budget
— Reviews contract terms, communicates issues with the project team, develops and implements three-week schedules, reviews pre-job checklists, monitors crew cost reports, and administers timely, accurate project documents (change orders, time and materials, POs, daily job control reports, receipts/invoices). Maintains control of materials and supplies. - Supervisory Responsibilities
— Supervises hourly operations personnel (laborers, equipment operators, drivers, etc.). May supervise Career Track Partners and direct subcontractors and other suppliers.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; continuing education in construction is desirable.
- Minimum 3 years of construction experience in at least one trade discipline (e.g., excavation, pipe, concrete or paving) with one or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
- OSHA 10 hour required.
