About the Role
We are looking to add a Construction Manager to our central Virginia team and our Water business line. We are looking for a highly motivated Construction Manager to work on a variety of water and wastewater projects. This position works under the leadership of our senior construction manager. You’ll work with other Jacobs Construction Managers, Project Managers, Inspectors, and Engineers in addition to the Project Client and Contractors to deliver these projects.

Responsibilities- Serve as lead construction manager on some projects while supporting teams in other projects.
Supervise all phases of construction (pre‑design, design, procurement, construction, and post‑construction). - Act as the primary professional in charge of construction management services, ensuring project meets quality, safety, schedule, and cost.
- Work with the senior construction manager as an integral part of the construction team.
- Prepare field observation review reports, change proposals, progress meeting agendas/summaries, verify quality assurance and control implementation, review and recommend pay applications, progress schedule review, assist with claims review and responses, and review submittals while fielding construction‑related questions and keeping the owner informed of the project status.
- Conduct site visits to perform construction observation.
- Organize and track construction project performance and documentation to ensure our teams are tracking construction projects properly and maintaining required documentation.
- Review vendor information to assure compliance with specifications.
- Participate with engineering teams in the preparation of reports, studies, and calculations.
- Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in related field
- At least 5 years’ experience of technical inspection work in a construction environment, specifically construction specifications, drawings, and documentation
- Experience in municipal construction or related field
- Experience with multiple trade inspection, construction and estimating
- The physical ability to move around an active construction site
- Excellent team player with exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver results
- Ability to develop interpersonal relationship building, resolve conflicts, and participate in diverse teams
- Excellent oral and written communications, self‑motivation, team‑oriented work practices, and strong data analysis & technical problem‑solving skills
- Ability to adapt and learn on the job
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
- Extensive experience in water and/or wastewater facility construction
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
