Senior Estimator
Job Location:
Henrico, VA + Atlanta, GA (Multiple Openings) Base Salary: $120K-160K Requirements: 7 years of experience in civil/site development estimating. Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid and/or AGTEK is highly preferred. Prior experience with data center or large-scale warehouse site work is a plus.
Position Overview:
The Senior Estimator is responsible for leading the estimating process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness of cost estimates. This role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive bids for civil construction projects, particularly in data centers, warehouses, and utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects involving civil, sitework, and utility work.
- Utilize estimating software such as HCSS and Heavy Bid to generate accurate bids.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project scope and specifications.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for estimates and assess project requirements.
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Maintain and update a database of historical costs for future reference.
- Present and explain estimates to management and clients as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in estimating for construction projects, with a focus on civil and utilities.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS, Heavy Bid, and AGTEK.
