What You’ll Do Lead Construction Projects
  • Manage residential home construction from site preparation through completion.
  • Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, inspections, materials, and daily work plans.
  • Maintain quality, craftsmanship, and project timelines.
Lead Volunteers
  • Welcome and engage volunteers while creating a safe and rewarding experience.
  • Conduct daily safety orientations and toolbox talks.
  • Teach construction skills and connect volunteers to Habitat’s mission.
Champion Safety
  • Promote a culture of safety on every job site.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and Habitat safety practices.
  • Address hazards proactively and maintain required documentation.
Collaborate & Lead
  • Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, Ameri Corps members, interns, and community partners.
  • Mentor others while modeling Richmond Habitat’s values of Equity, Integrity, Partnership, Legacy, and Fun.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) or more years of residential construction experience.
  • Hands‑on carpentry skills including framing, doors, windows, siding, drywall, flooring, trim, and finish work.
  • Experience managing residential construction projects.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and safely work on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs.
Preferred
  • Experience leading crews or volunteers.
  • Construction management coursework or related education.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or volunteer‑driven environment.
