Project Manager; Heavy Civil Construction

A leading heavy civil general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support major infrastructure projects in the Richmond, VA region. This role will focus on bridge rehabilitation, superstructure repair, and roadway improvement projects in partnership with VDOT.

The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, working closely with Superintendents and Project Engineers to drive execution, safety, schedule, and financial performance.

This is a high-impact role supporting multiple active projects, including a VDOT M42 bridge repair project and roadway improvements, with long-term opportunity to help grow the firm’s presence in the Virginia market.

• Overseemultipleprojectsconcurrentlydependingonsizeandscope
• Partner with Superintendentsandfieldteamstodriveproductionandmeetprojectmilestones
• Serveasprimaryliaisonwithclients,subcontractors,andstakeholders
• Supportlong-termregionalgrowtheffortsinVirginia

• DevelopandmanageCPMschedulesandlook-aheadplans
• Coordinatesubcontractors,materials,andequipmenttomaintainproduction
• Ensurealignmentbetweenfieldoperationsandprojectschedule

• Manageprojectbudgets,forecasting,andcostcontrols
• Overseepayapplications,change orders,andbillingprocesses
• Trackandmanageextraworkandensureproperdocumentation

• LeadjobsitesafetyinitiativesandensurecompliancewithOSHAandproject-specificsafetyplans
• Promoteastrongsafetycultureacrossallteamsandsubcontractors

• Representthecompanyinmeetingswithowners(VDOT),engineers,andprojectpartners
• Maintainstrongcommunicationandrelationshipsthroughouttheprojectlifecycle

• Initialfocusonbridgeandsuperstructurerepair(VDOTM
  42) androadwayimprovementprojects
• Supportingmultipleactivejobsinthe Richmondarea
• Field-basedrolewithflexibilityforadministrativework(some remote/WFHasneeded)
• Teamincludesestablished Superintendent and Assistant Superintendentsupport

• 7+yearsofheavycivilconstructionexperience
• Project Managerexperiencerequired(notopentoProject Engineersor Superintendentssteppingup )
• Backgroundinbridge,highway,orroadwayconstructionstronglypreferred
• ExperienceworkingonVDOTorsimilarDOTprojectsisaplus
• Strongunderstandingof:
• Projectscheduling(PrimaveraP6orequivalent)
• Costcontrolandforecasting
• Changeordermanagement
• Proficiencywithconstructionmanagementsoftware(Procore,Viewpoint,etc.)
