Construction Administrator II
The Construction Administrator II plays a critical role in delivering successful projects by overseeing construction administration activities from start to finish. This position collaborates closely with contractors, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure projects are executed in alignment with design intent, budget, schedule, and quality standards. Ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional, this role offers the opportunity to lead project coordination efforts, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the successful delivery of impactful projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring work complies with plans, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a point of contact for contractors, design teams, and clients, facilitating effective communication and resolving mid-level project issues with limited supervision.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, confirm quality, and ensure safety compliance.
- Review and process construction documents, including submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders, ensuring accuracy and consistency with project goals.
- Assist in the preparation and oversight of project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, identifying risks and recommending solutions.
- Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
- Lead project meetings or portions of meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review progress, coordinate responsibilities, and resolve conflicts.
- Provide mentorship and training to Level 1 and Level 2 team members (Assistants and CA I).
- Support project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch list resolution, and lessons-learned documentation.
Qualifications
Required
- 3-5 years of experience in construction administration, project management, or related roles.
Preferred
- Certification in construction management (e.g., CCM) or progress toward professional credentials.
- Prior experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
