A leading national General Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their growing Richmond, Virginia team. With approximately $10 billion in annual revenue, a $15 billion backlog of work, and 3,300 employees across more than 45 offices worldwide, the company has an exceptional reputation for delivering complex, high-value construction projects. The Virginia operation has a strong pipeline of work, particularly across the healthcare and municipal sectors, with projects typically ranging from $100 million to $300 million.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take the lead on a major construction project from preconstruction through completion. Unlike environments where Senior PMs are expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, this role allows you to take full ownership of one major project at a time, working closely with the project team and senior leadership to ensure successful delivery.
Key responsibilities include:- Taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a major commercial construction project
- Managing projects from preconstruction through close-out
- Overseeing project schedules, budgets, forecasting, procurement, and financial performance
- Leading project teams including Project Engineers and Project Manager
- Coordinating closely with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Managing contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Monitoring project costs, risks, quality, schedule, and overall performance
- Leading project meetings and providing regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Driving subcontractor coordination, procurement, and buyout
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the project management team
- 8-15+ years of construction experience
, primarily with a commercial General Contractor - Proven experience working as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager on projects valued at $70M+
- Strong experience leading large-scale commercial construction projects
- Healthcare and/or municipal construction experience is highly preferred
- Candidates from other commercial sectors will also be considered, provided they have strong large-project experience
- Strong understanding of construction operations, contracts, scheduling, cost control, and project financials
- Proven ability to lead project teams and take full ownership of major projects
- Strong communication, leadership, and client management skills
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project preferred
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
- Demonstrated career stability and a strong track record with previous employers
