Project Manager / Field Operations Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Project Manager / Field Operations Superintendent to oversee construction projects from planning through completion. This position combines project management, field supervision, subcontractor coordination, logistics, and day-to-day construction operations.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can effectively coordinate field teams and subcontractors while keeping projects on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with plans, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities and field operations from project start through completion
- Manage project schedules, budgets, manpower, materials, and overall workflow
- Coordinate and direct subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and other project stakeholders
- Review project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure work is progressing as required
- Monitor jobsite progress and identify potential delays, conflicts, and other issues
- Resolve field-related problems and coordinate solutions with project leadership and subcontractors
- Conduct inspections and verify that work meets quality standards, project specifications, and applicable codes
- Coordinate the procurement, expediting, delivery, and tracking of materials and equipment
- Manage site logistics, deliveries, inventory, staging, and material flow
- Maintain accurate project documentation, daily reports, schedules, and progress records
- Communicate project status, challenges, and requirements to management and other stakeholders
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination to maintain project timelines
- Support continuous improvement of field operations, processes, and productivity
- Perform other duties related to construction management and field operations as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction project management, field supervision, or superintendent roles
- Experience managing commercial, industrial, or similar construction projects preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, and field operations
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
- Knowledge of material procurement, expediting, delivery coordination, and site logistics
- Ability to inspect work for quality, safety, compliance, and adherence to plans and specifications
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements
- Proficiency with construction/project management software and tools for scheduling, documentation, and reporting
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Richmond, VA
