• Operate video and editing equipment to produce images or scenes for newscasts and other programming.
• Organize and edit raw video to match scripts or instructions.
• Review assembled footage on screens or monitors to determine if corrections are necessary.
• Trim recorded segments to specified lengths and reassemble them into sequences that present stories with maximum effect.
• Determine the specific audio and visual effects required to complete spots.
• Set up and operate computer editing systems, electronic titling systems, video switching equipment, and digital video effects units to produce a final product.
• Select and combine the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story.
• Shoot video for news reports.
• Confere with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics, and shot requirements.
• Set up, compose, and execute video shots.
• Maintain video equipment.
• Edit video clips for television broadcasts and digital content.
• Operate live microwave, satellite trucks, and live Backpack TVU equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• College degree or equivalent related experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum two years’ experience operating video editing equipment.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
• Proficiency with video editing equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premier helpful.
• Flexibility to work any shift, including overnights and weekends.

Must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face‑to‑face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.

Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
