Department of Music is looking to hire trained accompanists. The accompanist's responsibilities may include assisting with masterclasses, accompanying the voice area through applied lessons,auditions, and juries, and accompanying a choir or the Opera.

Accompanists are expected to be thoughtful and proactive members ofthe Music community and have a desire to work with a diverse student population in a collaborative, inclusive and learning-centered collective.

• Provide collaborative piano support in Opera Theatre, including all rehearsals and performances.

• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population offaculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences,or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

• Bachelor’s degree in collaborative piano or piano performance, or commensurate experience in accompanying.
• Experience accompanying applied lessons from beginner to advanced levels
• Experience accompanying in an academic setting
