Internship Opportunity at University Museums
Help support the University Museums in creating educational content to support special exhibitions/museum collection. The intern will learn how to research artists, artworks, and create engagement materials for current and future use. This project will refine an already created program called Art and Pedagogy, a self-guided collection tour for university classes, and update it to be updated in theory/themes, made structurally functional, and accessible on the Museums' public database.
Specific duties include:
- Assist museum staff with researching artists and artworks.
- Consider innovative and fresh ways to engage with art through self-guided materials.
- Develop creative materials, such as lesson plans, to use in thematic packages from the museum's permanent collection.
- Think about how the collection could provide support to academic initiatives and university student groups.
- Collaborate with collections intern regarding database and collection research.
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate must be creative, energetic, and self-motivated. Must be a good communicator, organized, reliable, and have a positive approach to problem solving.
- Must be able to work 4-8 hours per week.
Pay Grade: SP Student 4, starting at $14.25
